FAQ

Questions parents ask

If your question is not here, ask us directly — we would rather answer honestly than have you guess.

Getting started

How do I register my child?

Use the Register Your Child form on this site. It takes a few minutes: your details, your child's details, and the subjects you are interested in. You will receive a reference number immediately, and we will contact you to talk through levels, timing and the right class format.

Which subjects do you teach?

MindSpring is open to all school subjects. Our current subject list is on the Subjects page. If the subject you need is not listed yet, contact us — we will tell you honestly whether we can cover it.

Can we try a class first, or have an assessment?

Talk to us when you register. Depending on the subject and level we may suggest a short assessment first so that we place your child correctly rather than guessing.

Programmes

Do you support SPM, IGCSE and UEC?

Yes. We support the Malaysian national syllabus through to SPM, the IGCSE syllabus for international school students, and both Junior and Senior Middle UEC. Tell us which examination your child is sitting when you register so we match them to the right teacher.

Which school levels do you accept?

Primary school through to secondary school — Standard 1 to Form 5, plus the equivalent IGCSE and UEC levels.

Class formats

Do you offer online classes as well as physical ones?

Both. Some families prefer coming in, others prefer online, and some mix the two. You can state a preference when you register and change it later.

What is the difference between one-to-one and small-group tuition?

One-to-one means the whole lesson is built around your child, at their pace, with flexible timing. Small-group means a small class of students at a similar level, which costs less and lets students learn from each other's questions. We will recommend one after we understand where your child is.

Attendance

What happens if my child misses a class?

Submit an absence notice through the parent portal, or message us, as early as you can. Replacement classes can be requested through the portal and are arranged subject to teacher and room availability.

Fees

How much does tuition cost?

Fees depend on the subject, level, class format and number of hours, so we quote after we understand what your child needs rather than publishing a number that may not apply to you. Use the Request Fee Information button or contact us directly.

Progress

How do I receive updates on my child's progress?

Parents get a portal account. Teachers record what was covered in each lesson, and progress notes are released to you once reviewed. You can also see attendance history and upcoming classes there.

Teaching with us

How can I apply to teach at MindSpring?

Use the Teach With Us page. Tell us your subjects, levels, examination experience and availability, and attach your resume. Every application is read.
